In our National survey (Phase 1), Ontario represented 40% of the respondents. This is close to Ontario’s proportion of Canada’s population, which is 36.5% of the population of the country. The poverty line currently sits at $2,303 in Toronto, while Ontario Disability Assistance Program payment is $1,308 (all figures for single individuals), and falls short of even the deep poverty threshold of $1,727 for the province.
