Research Symposium
Our first annual research symposium was held on December 3, 2025 as part of our International Day of People with Disabilities celebrations. Below you’ll find information on our current research symposium, as well as links to the recordings from previous symposiums.
The statistics on disability poverty in Canada are stark. In 2022, 1 in 6 disabled people lived in poverty, representing over 1.5 million people, and 1 in 3 disabled people living alone lived in poverty.
On December 3, 2025, Disability Without Poverty (DWP) hosted a free, virtual symposium that brought together researchers with lived experience, service providers, academic and community researchers to talk about disability poverty in Canada.
