Sid Frankel
Dr. Sid Frankel is a senior scholar in the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Manitoba after more than 30 years as a faculty member. His areas of research focus on the non-profit sector and poverty reduction policy. Recent publications include Forget, E. L., & Frankel, S. (2024). Flirting with a basic income in Canada: Were the lessons worth the risk of popular backlash?. Dr. Frankel was invited to provide testimony to the Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology on the Canada Disability Benefit Act. He is a member of the national steering committee of Campaign 2000 to End Child Poverty and an executive board member of the Basic Income Canada Network
